Apotheoze installs straight from your browser, on Android and on iPhone. There is nothing to download from a store, no account, and no permission to grant — the page you already have becomes an app.
What it changes
- full screen, with no address bar eating the top of the board
- playable offline, once it has loaded
- an icon on your home screen, like any other game
The game can also do this for you: open Settings › Install the game inside Apotheoze. On Android that gives you a single button. On iPhone it shows the same steps as below, because Safari offers no button to give.
Android — Chrome, Edge, Samsung Internet
- Open the browser menu (⋮, top right).
- Choose Install app, or Add to Home screen if that is the wording you see.
- Confirm. The icon lands with your other apps.
Your progress carries over: on Android the installed app and the browser share the same storage, so you pick up exactly where you left off.
iPhone and iPad — Safari
- Tap the Share button at the bottom of Safari.
- Scroll down the list and choose Add to Home Screen.
- Confirm. The icon joins your apps.
It has to be Safari — on iOS, Chrome and Firefox cannot add anything to the home screen, because Apple does not let them.
Do this first, if you have already been playing. On iPhone, the installed app gets its own storage: it cannot see the progress you made in Safari, so it opens on a blank slate. Nothing is lost — your progress is still in Safari — but you have to carry it across yourself.
In Safari, open Settings › 💾 Save and export your file. Then open the installed app and import it from the same screen. It takes about twenty seconds and it only has to be done once.
Is a store version coming?
It is planned. Installing from the browser will keep working either way — it needs no review, takes no commission, and updates the moment we deploy.
