Apotheoze is a game with no account, no advertising, no third-party cookie and no tracker. Here, in plain words, is everything that exists as data.

This English text is provided for convenience. The French version at apotheoze.com/confidentialite.html is the legally authoritative one.

On your device only

Your progress (records, ichor, unlocked worlds, settings, feats) lives in your browser's local storage. It never leaves your device and disappears if you clear the site's data.

Settings › 💾 Save hands it back to you as a file: yours to carry to another device, or to keep somewhere safe. That file stays with you — it is sent nowhere, and it does not carry the analytics identifier.

Reminders

In the app installed from a store, the game may remind you of the day's oracle, a chest that has come to maturity, or a step of the Meander that awaits you. These reminders are entirely local: it is your phone that schedules and shows them, no server is told what you play or when you come back, and nothing leaves the device.

They turn on only after your explicit consent, at most one reminder a day, and the game falls silent for a month if you do not respond three times in a row. Settings › 🔔 Reminders switches them off at any time; your phone's system also lets you refuse them altogether. On the website, this feature does not exist.

The daily ranking (the Augury)

The game gives you a nickname on first launch, so that you have a name without having to invent one. That name does not leave your device: as long as you have not asked to enter the ranking, nothing is sent.

If — and only if — you enter the ranking (by accepting this name or choosing your own), the following are sent to our server:

No email address, no real name, no location. The IP address is never kept: an anonymized, short-lived fingerprint (windows of a few minutes, purged automatically) serves only to limit abuse. Scores older than two weeks are erased.

The stele (your public profile)

Under the same nickname — and only if you have entered the ranking — the game publishes your stele: a summary that other players can read by touching your name in a ranking. It carries your nickname, the title and the incarnation you chose to display, and aggregate game figures (play time, games, worlds, constellations, voyages) — never the history of your games, never anything nominative. It travels under the same technical identifier as your scores, each publication replaces the previous one, and it is erased along with your rankings (the erase button in Settings, or the address below).

Analytics

To know which worlds are too hard and where the Initiation loses players, the game counts three things: the launch of the day, the end of a game (mode, world, points, offerings, chain, duration, total ichor) and the Initiation step reached. That is all.

These measurements carry neither nickname nor ranking score: they travel under a random identifier that is distinct from the Pantheon's, and therefore cannot link you to your player name. No cookie, no advertising tracker, no third-party tool — everything is computed on our own server, and nothing is shared with anyone. The IP address is not kept (the same short-lived fingerprint as above); your browser's identity is read for the sole purpose of keeping indexing robots out of the counts, and is never recorded. These measurements are erased after two months.

You can switch analytics off at any time: Settings → 📊 Analytics. The game works exactly the same.

Deletion & reporting

To have a score or a stele removed, to erase your usage measurements, or to report an inappropriate nickname: apotheoze@exp4.fr, stating the day and the nickname concerned. Deletion within a few days.
